Larry Rauch

His music has been called transformational, and vibrating with peaceful energy by some who've enjoyed his live performances.  Larry has been interested in the theraputic power of music since he first heard the music that touched his soul in his teens and realized his mood and attitude were changed for the rest of the day. The style he shares today evolved over a 30-year career that began with a music composition degree from Iowa State University in the early '80s. There followed stints in several bands during the years he and his wife Nita lived in Idaho and Colorado. Once they settled down in Bend OR, Larry began developing his own unique expression of healing music, first as a staff musician at First Presbyterian Church, then as a independent artist.  His first studio release "Peace" featured traditional styles and acoustic instrumentation.  He then allowed his jazz muse to take over for a couple of years, and the "Our Time" project was the result.  He ranked this collaboration with some of Oregon's finest musicians one of the highlights of his career, and considered his recording days were over.

There was still too much music inside, however, and early in 2012 he began recording some of the material he'd been writing and sharing in various central Oregon venues in the years since Our Time was released. This eventually grew into the "Embrace" album which was released in 2013.  It features theraputic music of different styles which combine various influences into something that is wonderfully familiar yet fresh and compelling. Please note: this is not the musical equivalent of Novocain. There is lots of energy and life in these tunes.  Of course, it doesn't fit neatly into any of the music business pigeonholes, so it is not going to get much commercial airplay.  Larry is counting on his fans, supporters and the adventurous listeners to internet radio to spread the word about his latest and best contribution to the healing energy in the world.
